Thor: Ragnarok Movie Review!!

Ragnarök is the third movie for Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The events of Ragnarök takes place years after the Battle with Ultron, which explains Thor and The Hulk‘s absence from Civil War. Ragnarök produced $427 million worldwide its opening weekend, making it the top Thor movie among the three. The first two films took on a darker tone, with heavy elements of Norse Mythology. Ragnarök looked more like a Guardian of the Galaxy theme, with the bright colors and constant humor.

From different the comic publications to film animations like Hulk vs , a fight between Thor and The Hulk is something the fans love to see. In the first Avengers movie, we see the two characters battle fists before becoming “horseplaying” friends. In Ragnarök, Thor and The Hulk really battle it out in a gladiator style arena. This is one of the great animation creations that is made by big studios, as for companies and small projects like a 2D explainer video you can contact small services online to help you with this in your company.

Hela became the film’s main protagonist, followed by Surtur, the bringer of Ragnarök. In the comics, Hela is said to be Loki’s daughter, where in this film, Odin is the father. She fought by his side defeating the nine realms and help built his empire. Odin feared her growing power and locked her away, with his life force as the seal. Upon Odin’s death, Hela was released, destroyed Asgard’s forces, then claiming herself the new ruler of Asgard. In the end Hela was destroyed when Surtur was reborn. Do you think Hela was killed or will she appear for revenge in the Infinity Wars?

The concepts of World War Hulk are used in this film as well. According to the comics, The Hulk is exiled from Earth by the Illuminati. In the cinematic version, The Hulk left Earth with the quinjet thus coming to the planet Sakaar. It wasn’t fully explained how the jet left Earth’s orbit and traveled across the cosmos to the trash planet. Instead of being treated as a gladiator slave, The Hulk was living like a champion, in such a way he wanted to stay instead of returning to Earth. The Hulk gained more of his intelligence and speech. Even though on a level of a young child, Hulk is able to communicate with Thor and somewhat control his urges for rage. What are your thoughts of this Hulk? Do you think this film took away from his savagery?

Loki makes his return in Ragnarök, after seemingly meeting his end in The Dark World film. Loki fights alongside Thor to save Asgard, even though at times he has the impulse to double cross Thor. Loki is responsible for bringing Surtur back to life with the Eternal Flame, which was locked away in The Vault. Loki caught sight of the Tesseract ( space gem) he once had, do you think he claimed it once again? Dr. Strange made an appearance in this film, connecting with Thor’s cameo appearance in his feature film. Dr. Strange easily trapped Loki in a void where he was seemingly falling forever, but how is this possible? Isn’t Loki much more powerful than Dr. Strange? Being a Frost Giant and Asgardian, Loki physically is close to the gods and his mystic arts would be levels above Dr. Strange. Would do you think would win in a battle between Loki and Dr. Strange??

Mjolnir was destroyed by Hela, having Thor believe he couldn’t channel his power without it. Odin informed Thor that the hammer purpose was to help focus his energy, not the source of his power. He first noticed this with his battle against the Hulk, then later with his last fight against Hela. Raiden is also known as the God of Thunder and Lighting. Some fans believe Raiden may have chance against the Asgardian with his profound martial arts mastery. Raiden trained using his powers without the aid of an enchanted weapons. One major pitfall for Raiden is that his powers are limited depending on the realm he enters, where with Thor, his powers are boundless. His Asgardian anatomy will allow him to heal faster than Raiden in this battle or even taking little damage. Which warrior do you think will be the victim of a fatality? What were your thoughts on Thor: Ragnarök? Do you think this was the best Thor film to date? Leave your comments below and share!

Dr. Doom

Dr. Doom, like many villains or some heroes, started with tragic beginnings. Doom lost his mother from a dealing gone wrong with the devil Mephisto and his father was lost in a grieving attempt to save his mother. Because the tragedy stemming from supernatural forces, Doom heavily indulged in learning science and magic in attempts to save his mother’s soul. Dr. Doom’s desire to gain more knowledge and power consumed him to the point where his actions took a villainous side than heroic. Because of this, Dr. Doom had many run ins with super teams such as The Fantastic Four and the Avengers, stopping his plans of domination.

Dr. Doom’s intellect level is in comparison with Lex Luthor, Reed Richards, Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark and even Dr. Strange in various degrees. Dr. Doom has many accomplishments and failures in his conquest of rulership. He has even been able to have the Infinity Gauntlet in his possession. Thanos also felt he was worthy of the Infinity Gauntlet as well, even though he failed its power.

Dr. Doom has made his appearance on-screen with The Fantastic Four , Rise of the Silver Surfer and the 2015 Fantastic Four. Dr. Doom appeared to be the main villain for each of the Fantastic Four movies. Each film showed small portions of Dr. Doom’s potential as a menacing super villain. With the 2015 reboot of Fantastic Four, Dr. Doom took on a different origin in power. He also took on different look and array of powers, completely erasing any signs of humanity. With these big changes to the character and storyline, the film took a big lost to its ratings and loyalty to comic fans. Are the current adaptations of Dr. Doom the last of his on-screen appearances or can movie producers revive and correct his character development?

Captain America

new captain america

Captain America is a symbol for courage and justice in the Marvel Universe. The Super Soldier Serum allowed Steve Rogers to become physically stronger than most men of his time on the battlefield. Steve was able to survive being frozen through time only to become leader of the super team The Avengers. Captain America is constantly molding himself to the new ways of the world. His legacy of the past reminds the people of today, fearless heroism of one’s country. Captain America finds himself at odds with Iron Man on different occasions, leading to a Civil War of ideals.

Scientists across the world are looking for ways to extend life, find cures for diseases, and even creating human enhancements. The Super Soldier Serum may not be fiction as portrayed. We live in the world of science. Human subject research has been going on ever since the medical field has spawned. How else could we have medicines, vaccines, and even deadly biological weapons if they weren’t tested first? Captain America’s origin was based around the timeline of WW2, when Germany was eliminating Jews through scientific testing and/or direct genocide.

The Super soldier serum would benefit a character like Batman, who has no superpowers. Most non super powered heroes have trained their bodies and skills to peak perfection. Before the Super Soldier Serum, Steve Rogers was frail and was considered unfit for duty in the US Army. If such a serum was taken by Batman, his physical condition would be greater than Captain America, since his physical condition is at its peak already….

Like many other characters, Captain America has made his transition from the comic book to major films. Captain America:The First AvengerCaptain America: The Winter Soldier, and Civil War brought Steve Rogers to life with excellent stories, matching very similarly to the comics. Actor Chris Evans played multiple roles in the same comic movie universe, as Captain America and Human Torch. Does Chris changing characters distort the cinematic universe??

The Joker

The Joker is ranked among the top comic book villains of all time. The Joker was first depicted in DC Comics as a comedic style criminal of Gotham City and a nuisance to its society with his prankster antics. The Joker was later created as a dark villain: a homicidal, psychopathic terrorist who kills mercilessly for amusement. The Joker’s appearance and ruthless personality, brings fear in any organization within the criminal underworld.

The Joker became twisted with evil from the loss of his wife and child, then becoming physically deformed in a confrontational accident with the Dark Knight. The Joker believes Batman created him to be the negative side the hero couldn’t become: a killer. The Joker operates out of many hideouts when running the streets of Gotham or is held in his public domain Arkham Asylum. The Joker outfits himself in bright colors like that of a clown or jester, thus receiving the title Clown Prince of Crime. In Gotham City, The Joker represents complete chaos while Batman represents dominant order.

On film, The Joker’s character profile is parallel with the comic book version. In the 1989 Batman, Jack Nicholson played the theatrical criminal with a spontaneous sense of crude humor, with mild violence suitable for most audiences. Heath Ledger shed more light to The Joker’s dark and ruthless nature in The Dark Knight, much approved by comic fans worldwide. In the Suicide Squad, The Joker is played by Jared Leto  as a rockstar with an unpredictable behavior and a demented mindset. Last but least Joaquin Phoenix becomes the Joker in his feature film, displaying his beginning and what led him to his vile personality. Since the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, comic fans feel Ben Affleck surpassed Christian Bale‘s popularity as Batman. Will Jared Leto become the top Joker to match the new and improved Batman? Or has the Clown Prince of Crime reached his cinematic limit?

The Batman Movie Review!!!

DC Comics presents the 6th incarnation of The Batman, with Robert Pattinson taking the role of the Dark Knight. To date this film grossed $771 million worldwide from a budget of $200 million, quickly bringing a sequel in the works. The cinematography gives the same feeling as the movie Joker, displaying the dark and gritty side of Gotham City. With James Gunn as the new Co-chairman and Co-Ceo of Dc Comics, will this version of Batman be able to become a three-movie series like the Christopher Nolan Batman?

This is a young Batman two years in the making and is not looked upon as a hero just yet. The Batcave is in an abandon subway station under Wayne Tower, his tech is in development and limited. The bat suit is a working progress but very effective in its early stages.  The suit is able to stop high caliber bullets, survive explosions and can form into a wingsuit allowing Batman to glide thru the city’s skyscrapers. The Gotham Police Department frowns upon Jim Gordon, portrayed by Jeffrey Wright, for considering Batman as an ally and allowing him to interfere in police investigations. The history of Bruce Wayne’s parents is different from what we know from the comics and movie adaptations. Thomas Wayne was associated with the crime boss Carmine Falcone after saving his life and Martha Wayne was mentally ill, even being a patient of Arkham Hospital.

Zoe Kravitz is the 4th actress to play Gotham City’s cat burglar and the third to be of African American decent to portray the character. In this film Selina is the daughter of the crime boss Carmine Falcone and works in the gritty Iceberg Club. Selina’s friend became mixed up with Gotham’s underworld, prompting Selina to protect her at all costs.  Selina later joins Batman in his crusade to bring the corrupt to justice before leaving Gotham City behind.

Colin Ferrell is the Penguin in this film with excellent performance. There were many changes from the first Penguin in Batman Returns played by Danny DeVito. Tim Burton made his Penguin closely related to the one in the comics, a man living in the sewers with a bird appearance and custom weapons concealed in umbrellas. The Penguin created by Matt Reeves runs the Iceberg Club seemingly as a legitimate businessman but also is associated with some of Gotham’s powerful upper class in illegal activities. With the success of this film, HBO Max has allotted the character to have his own spin-off series just like they did for the PeaceMaker.

This Riddler brought suspense to the film with his serial killings similar to Jigsaw. His murders were puzzles for Batman specifically to figure out while bringing fear to the upper class and police department of Gotham. He believed he is bringing justice to the city like Batman even though his methods are brutal. The Riddler was portrayed by Paul Dano and Jim Carrey played the character previously in Batman Forever. Carrey’s Riddler was based around the actor’s comical persona on films and television.

What was your overall impression of The Batman by Matt Reeves? Does this film measure up to the previous Batmen or do you think it fell short of expectations? Leave your thoughts below and check out SideShow Collectables for The Batman’s statues!

Captain Marvel / Shazam

Billy Batson became a living dream to most lost children, a symbol of hope and powers like a superhero. With the shout of “SHAZAM!!”, Billy transforms into an adult demigod, Captain Marvel / Shazam similar to Goku transforming into an adult as he becomes Super Saiyan 4. As Captain Marvel, Billy aligns himself with the Justice League to fight and protect the planet. Since Captain Marvel is really a young kid, his adult form exhibits adolescent behavior which severs his maximum potential as a hero.

The wizard Shazam imprisoned demons that represent The Seven Deadly Sins of Man, which would plague humanity if unchecked. These seven sins are similar to the ones told among religions of the real world. The sins are believed to be the cause for war, destruction and indifference among people. Anyone appointed to become a part of the Shazam Family is responsible for protecting the Earth from such elements. Black Adam was among the Shazam family until he was corrupted by his power, much like Sinestro..

Superman vs Captain Marvel is a popular crossover battle in the comic universe. With physical power and natural abilities, it’s hard to tell the difference between the two characters in battle. Superman outwits Captain Marvel in battle because of the Captain’s childlike mentality. When their superpowers collide, Captain Marvel dominates Superman. Magic is one of Superman’s weaknesses, which is the main source of Captain Marvel’s superpowers. In DC vs Mortal Kombat ending for Superman, Captain Marvel used knowledge of ancient Krypton to design a costume which repels magical attacks against Superman. Do you think these two characters are strong enough to battle Goku and Vegeta at God levels?

The Flash

The Flash is the master of the Speed Force, which makes him the fastest human alive in the DC Universe. With his superpowers, Barry Allen became the crime fighter for Central City. The Flash is also a founding member of the Justice League and a temporary officer for both the White and Blue Lantern Corps. The Flash can use his powers in all aspects of his life, not just crime fighting. With the power of acceleration, he can complete any daily task needed in a fraction of the time. Imagine waking up late for work or school with the power of the speed force. The normal time frame to get prepared and make your destination on time could be less than five minutes….

The Flash takes interest in competing with Superman when it comes to speed. Both heroes have superhuman speed but Barry’s main power lie within the Speed Force where Superman have a list of powers that become present around a yellow star like the Sun. Quicksilver is a speedster in the Marvel Universe that writers have matched up against The Flash, because of their similarities. The difference between the two speedster is that one was born a mutant, with natural abilities of superhuman speed while the other was created by an accident. With such close comparison, who can really tell the winner between the two?

Just like the Green Lantern recruits of Earth, there are different variations of The Flash. These variations date back to the Golden Era of DC Comics. Alan Scott and Jay Garrick are of The Justice Society of America, then come the younger heroes Barry Allen and Hal Jordan of the Justice league. Since The Flash was a part of the Blue Lantern Corps, could his protégé and predecessor qualify to become the Earth recruits of the Blue Lantern Corps as well? If so, could they be a match against the Green Lantern recruits from Earth?

The story of The Flash was explored in The Flashpoint Paradox and the TV Series. He also made an appearance in the Justice League movie portrayed by Ezra Miller. Most comic fans believe that Ezra may have been too young to be the famous speedster. The Justice League film did well in the box office but still fell short of the expectations comic fans had for him. Do you think the Flash will receive a solo film or will The Flash become a remake like most of the DC characters?? Comic Multiverse Fan Favorite artwork of The Flash goes to the DeviantArt artist Memed. Excellent Artwork!!

Magneto

Magneto is one of the most powerful and popular of all Marvel villains. Magneto’s quest to protect his kind has brought conflict around the world, gaining the full attention of governmental powers. Even though Magneto is perceived as a villain, is he really? As a child growing up in concentration camps, he saw the deaths of many people under Hitler’s rule. While many prisoners were experimented on, the Nazi was unaware the true prize lied within young Erik Lehnsherr. A prize that is hidden away in the genetic code of many people, potentially to become a threat or hope for the world in the future…

Its only natural for a child who has experienced those harsh conditions, to become rebellious later in life against worldly rule. Rebellious against an oppressor with a plan to control mutants powers for weapons and locking them away from normal humans. Knowing this, is its justifiable for Magneto to become a dictator against normal human beings? Since Magneto outlook on his future world is negative in nature, it’s fitting to have a good friend such as Charles Xavier to help bring some balance to his point of view even though they have battled many times via The X-Men.

Magneto is among the many characters that have come from the comic book, to television, game and film. Between Ian Mckellen and Michael Fassbender, who portrayed Magneto’s character on film the best?

Magneto has battled many foes throughout his life. Due to the similarities, do you think Graviton has a chance against the master of magnetism?
