Bishop

Bishop traveled into the past and eventually became part of the X-Men, the very team whose legacy helped shape his world in the future. His mutant ability allows him to absorb different forms of energy and redirect that stored power through devastating energy blasts. Bishop has also jumped into mainstream media, appearing in the old X-Men cartoon series as well as the new X-Men 97 before making his live-action film appearance in X-Men: Days of Future Past, portrayed by Omar Sy. Whether fighting beside the X-Men in the present or trying to prevent another disastrous future, Bishop has always been a character caught between two different worlds.

Bishop, Cable and Forge are the trio that the X-Men utilizes in the area of time travel. Bishop is similar to Max Walker, pursuing criminals through time. Cable is the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor. His character is similar to that of Kyle Reese, jumping to the past to change the outcome of the future. The threat for Kyle Reese was Skynet and the Terminators, while the threat for Cable was Stryfe and Apocalypse. Forge is the mutant version of Tony Stark. The time it takes Tony to complete a build, Forge can have it done in a fraction of that time because his mutant ability grants him that. Forge has worked with both Cable and Bishop on many occasions when needed most.

Bishop’s mutant ability is to absorb, store and redistribute energy. His abilities will cost him his life if exploited and overloaded with too much energy. But what if Bishop used Wakandan technology? Bishop knows that the Sentinels are being built deadlier by the day. Bishop is finding himself overexerting his mutant abilities to the edge. What if he travels back in time and visits Wakanda? Shuri would discover that his mutant abilities and Vibranium share the same behavior: absorb, store and disperse energy. She builds Bishop a suit that protects him from potentially fatal energy overload while allowing him to produce maximum discharges whenever needed. With this suit, Bishop could become virtually invincible against energy-based attacks. But as Shuri studies Bishop’s DNA, she makes an even greater discovery. What if Bishop’s abilities aren’t actually a mutant power, as everyone on Earth has always believed, but instead part of a physiology inherited from somewhere beyond Earth? What if Bishop’s ancestry somehow traces back to the same extraterrestrial source as Vibranium—much like Kryptonite came from Krypton, the home world of Superman...?

Wolverine

Why is Wolverine a Fan Favorite? Because of his mutant ability to regenerate his physiology if injured or poisoned. If humans had that ability, there wouldn’t be fear of death or worry about disease. Just think what the sports world would be like. Second, the adamantium skeleton would make it difficult to severe limbs or crush him. Wolverine has survived falls that will kill any normal human, and even recovered from deadly explosions such as one caused by the mutant Nitro, which only left his adamantium skeleton remaining. Involved in many wars and living in the wilderness as a wild animal, Wolverine is an ultimate survivalist with the help of his mutation.

Wolverine was a part of many military organizations throughout the years. His government training led over to him joining super teams but his most notably team is the X-Men, who protect humanity against threats mainly those who were born mutants much like himself. Wolverine is primarily a loner because he knows in the end, he will outlive anyone he becomes close to.

Throughout the years, Wolverine battled many characters. The most famous battles would be with his rival Sabertooth, The Hulk and even comic fans have discussed a match up with Darth Maul. Do you think a fighter such as Wolverine, master of all fighting forms, can take on Darth Maul, a master user of the Force?

Wolverine made his way to the big screen with the X-Men trilogy. Next was his solo films: X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Wolverine and Logan. Even though the clip below is not far from the comic book, most comics book films seem watered down for proper audiences. Unfortunately, Marvel has seemed to become more suited for children, maybe because of the fact Marvel is now under the Walt Disney Company. Was Hugh Jackman an excellent candidate to portray Wolverine? The game clip from X-Men Origins: Wolverine shows the true example of Wolverine uncut the way fans would love to see him…
