Goku is among the greatest heroes in the Dragon Ball universe, not simply because of his incredible power, but because of how many times he has risked or sacrificed his own life for his family, friends, Earth, and even the universe itself. Throughout his life, Goku has faced villains and warriors considered to be among the strongest and deadliest beings alive. His incredible power has also made Goku a favorite character for crossover debates among comic-book and anime fans. One of the biggest questions has always been: Who would win in a battle between Goku and Superman? Goku did not always know where that incredible power came from. Goku discovered that he was actually a Saiyan when his brother Raditz arrived on Earth and revealed the truth about his origins. With this knowledge, Goku began to understand the true potential hidden inside him. Over the years, Goku pushed the limits of his Saiyan abilities, progressing through transformations such as Super Saiyan and its increasingly powerful forms. Now with his new training on ki control, Goku has reached the levels of the Gods and Destroyers.

A major part of Goku’s development as a Saiyan came through his relationship with Vegeta. One of Goku’s greatest battles was against the Saiyan Prince. They began as rivals, became allies, and over time developed one of the most important friendships in the Dragon Ball universe. Their friendship never completely lost its competitive edge for Goku pushes Vegeta to become stronger, and Vegeta pushes Goku in return. What makes their rivalry interesting today is that they are no longer simply chasing the exact same transformation. Their training has increasingly taken them down different roads. When Goku and Vegeta cannot defeat an enemy separately, the two Saiyans have become one, either Gogeta from the Fusion Dance and Vegito  from  the Potara Earrings. Both warriors combine Goku and Vegeta’s enormous strength, speed, techniques, personalities, and Saiyan potential into a single fighter.  There would be no Dragonball Z without Akira Toriyama. Comic fans agree that Akira can be ranked among the top comic book story writers like Stan Lee or Bob Kane. What’s unique about Goku is that the entire series of Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Dragonball Super to Dragonball GT is all about his life story. Sadly, fans have yet to see their favorite DBZ heroes in the correct live action format. A live action attempt was made with Dragonball Evolution, and since its box office disappointment, a DBZ live action film has not been recreated to service the fans. Do you think we will ever have a live action film that mirrors the show??
